Alyssa Galvan est une musicienne de 18 ans originaire du sud-ouest du Missouri, aux Etats-Unis. L’éventail de ses influences musicales est si large, qu’elle peut fédérer toutes sortes de publics. Elle suit les traces de certaines des plus grandes guitaristes féminines, dont Memphis Minnie, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Bonnie Raitt et Susan Tedeschi. Alyssa est une guitariste, chanteuse qui en impose sur scène, avec un timbre de voix unique et puissant.

La jeune chanteuse a déjà voyagé à travers les Etats-Unis ainsi qu’en Europe, au Cahors Blues Festival, et au Thrill Blues Festival en Croatie. Son amour pour la musique blues l’a amenée à se produire à l’International Blues Challenge en 2022 et 2023 à Memphis (Tennessee), en tant qu’interprète dans la « Youth Category », à la fois en solo et en tant que chef de groupe. Après avoir participé aux masterclass d’été de la Pinetop Perkins Foundation à Clarksdale (Mississippi), elle a collaboré avec plusieurs musiciens.

Ces masterclass ont permis à Alyssa de jouer dans différentes régions des Etats-Unis et de décrocher un set solo dans le célèbre King Biscuit Blues Festival 2023 à Helena (Arkansas). Elle a eu l’occasion d’apprendre de musiciens de blues chevronnés et notoires tels que Doug MacLeod et Bob Margolin, qui a joué de nombreuses fois à ses côtés.

October Songwriters in the Round will showcase the songwriting and talents of Patti Steel, Alyssa Galvan, Michael Tisdale, and Skye Pollard.

Thank you Meteor Guitar Gallery for giving us the space to create space for voices and stories to be heard. October will be the seventh Round. The series started in March and had grown and highlighted some of the regions finest songwriters. More to come!

Songwriters in the Round is a Listening Room experience (limited audience talk) where songwriters can share their songs and process. The experience has been described as “magical,” “therapy,” and “spiritual.” We look forward to giving these amazing artists that experience. They will make it their own too! The evening will be dedicated to raising money for the Pinetop Perkins Scholarship fund.

Bob Margolin is a Steady Rollin’ Blues guitar player and singer who tours worldwide with his band, solo, or as a featured guest. He delivers original songs and the spirit of Chicago Blues that he learned on stage and recording in Muddy Waters’ band from 1973-1980. You can see him with Muddy and The Band in the Last Waltz film from 1976 all the way to live in the all-star 2022 Last Waltz tour with Warren Haynes and other superstars. Bob is known for his slide guitar, powerful vocals, and the sound, stories, and time travel of his experiences with the legends he knew.

On Friday July 14, Cahors Blues Festival offers the Johnny Winter stage (Village) to the Toulouse Blues Society (TBS), to introduce us to 4 bands. The TBS is an associative collective, born in 2011 under the impetus of professional and amateur Toulouse musicians. Its mission is to energize and promote the Blues culture in Toulouse and its greater region, thanks to the creation of public events or events reserved for its members: concerts, jam-sessions, exhibitions, cinema, dance, masterclass, educational projects for young people… Affiliated as a Blues Society to the Blues Foundation of Memphis, to the European Blues Union and to France Blues, the TBS maintains its identity and its regional cultural vocation (more than 3900 followers in the region) .

Born in Lubbock and raised in the country outside of a town called Paducah, Grady Spencer’s roots dig deep into Texas soil. By day, Spencer is a superintendent for a commercial construction company. By any other time, he’s songwriter and front-man of Grady Spencer & The Work. The Work originally formed in 2013 on the stage of Paradox Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Drummer Blake Sager was joined by bassist Johnny Hatcher in 2016, followed by guitarist Tyler Martin in 2018. The Work’s music reflects its members: honest, good-timing, with a nod to blue-collar roots. ​

KRISTEN KELLY is a singer-songwriter from Lorena, TX. She cut her teeth on the music scene in her home state touring 150-180 dates a year or more before catching the ear of ARISTA NASHVILLE, who signed Kelly, brought in award-winning producer Tony Brown and Grammy-winning songwriter Paul Overstreet to oversee her major-label debut. Her lead off single “EX-OLD MAN” was her first top 30 Billboard charting single. As one of CMT’s Next Women Of Country, Kristen has been writing, recording, playing the Grand Ole Opry all the while touring with acts including Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry, Jake Owen, Gary Allan and more. ASHES (2020) was featured on Season 7 Episode 1 of the Netflix hit show THE RANCH. She’s currently touring nationwide.
